No the engine is a 1963 model engine. There's no way that base is from 1963 maybe 1973 but not 63.It is a consul 2 engine.Should have been on the base in the picture above.

Yep, Its that consul alright, 63-64, ran in 2 and 4 stroke, along side a 2 and 4 stroke corvette, and a utility.
Should have a 3L carby.
Cheers Ty

I think thats the base for a V121 from 1972-1973, basic series 70 MKII engine, zip start with a G3.
The Model name at the Victa ends was the Mayfair, but it was often called contessa, depending on what the store (in this case retravision) chose.
I believe Victa generally limited the name choices to a few different options, but enough options to make sure you could have a different mane to the guy next to you.
Cheers Ty

Spark plug is at an angle, on a series 70 engine, that indicates 125cc.
There is a bulb in the cowl that shows the decompression valve, making it MKII or MKIII.
The sticker is also a MKII sticker, so the serial should point to 1971-1972.
You will find the muffler clips attach to little pegs, as the head is not bolted to long bars, the cylinder is bolted direct, like earlier 125cc's, and the head is bolted into the cylinder.

Here is the end of a 125cc series 70 MKII/III. See the slanted plug, and the decompression bulge? ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/09/full-5013-3421-img_0774.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/09/full-5013-3422-img_0776.jpg)

Yep, will you be keeping the Contessa as-is, becase this engine is the right age to make a 1972 MKI VC-125

Yep, make the Contessa into the VC-160 look-alike VC-125, as the engine as 'anatomically' and era correct.
Use the sydey one to create a VC-Sports look-alike VC-125, which is an even harder one to find, as the Sydney one's serial shows this is exactly what it came off (find out also if he by chance has the original cowl)
Cheers Ty

Here is another Consul 2 that I won on eBay.Thankfully Bob had picked up for me. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/09/full-5048-3513-1.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2011/09/full-5048-3514-2.jpg) I'm hoping that I can repair the base on this one.If not then I will just use it for parts that are needed for my other Consul 2.

[Censored] I knew the base wasn't good, but it has been butchered as well.I was wondering what the piece on the side was now I know. It's a modified height adjuster.I take it that means the plastic piece is not there.[Censored] I needed another one of those.Does it still have the rear axle clips on it? Fingers crossed here hoping they are there.

Well I want to see if it has the back axle clips. Also if the leaf guard under the starter is alright.Nothing to specific. Also does it turn over? and does it have the filter element inside the air box?
