I picked up two mowers today, one is a Pathfinder made for Myer and the other is a Pace fitted with a Villiers 7F Automatic engine
I believe that the Pathfinder is made in the same factory as the Pace as they share many similar features and parts.
373X engine on the Pathfinder
Pretty sure that the Pathfinder came out of the Pace factory, they even share the same hardware. The pace has its owners book and spanner and was a one owner.
And look at the casting on the Pace "Made in Australia" you would struggle to find that on any mower these days. Be something to show the grand kids or great grand kids that Australia was once able to produce things a long time ago
Kye, sorry but you are too young to have witnessed Australian manufacturing, you can now only see what we used to make in these old machines and in books and old magazines. Up at Lake Goldsmith a couple of months ago there was hundreds of old machines proudly displaying "Made in Ballarat" in the castings
I agree, it really does suck. Even worse is that most people my age think that something from china that will brake in a week for $2 is better then something that will never brake that is made here for $2.50.... I always like to buy Australian.
I think we are lucky in another piece of the jigsaw coming together. This is convincing evidence that Pace Mowers made this model Pathfinder, or supplied key components.
I know Boundy also made Pathfinders, and there are later models still not accounted for.
