Howdy there. Think I've come to the right place where people like to tinker with engines. Originally from FNQ as a young fella we moved to Brissy and been here since. Have a few bits and pieces of small engine gear like chainsaws, mowers, hedgers, blower and trimmer. A week ago I bought an old ride on mower which is going to give me a few headaches, so hopefully someone here can get me on track.

A couple of littlies and a missus I enjoy sport (except cricket at the moment!!), camping and fishing.

Cheers

Welcome to Outdoorking aldot. If you like to tinker and repair your small engines, you have indeed come to the right place. Can we see some pictures of the rideon?

Hi Grumpy here is the old beast that is going to cause some strife.

Not sure what year and how much it has been tampered with but its a
Greenfield 12HP Briggs I/C 28 inch cut Tractor 11.

Certainly doesn't run the best but I'll put those details in the appropriate section. The holes in the dash annoy me as the previous owner used a car battery and cut the holes to give the terminals clearance. Even whilst I tried it in his yard the battery would tap the metal and short due to minimal clearance. I pulled the battery out and fitted an appropriate size and ditched all the old wiring and started again. Not that there was too much wiring

As you said, it's best we pursue this in the rideons forum. An interesting machine. Its general condition reminds me of a couple of old farm tractors I've owned, but both of them were easily sorted out and it was well worth doing.
