Hi, I'm looking for a decent top cover for my VC-SPORT. It's an export model from 75-76. Basically the mustang but with the cream/white cover with the red, blue and white VC-SPORT sticker and a black zip sticker. Im doing my best to restore it to original and I'm not sure about full restore or just a general restore, keeping its age with it.

They are not easy to find these days, but are out there.
I am slowly releasing repairing a cup starter top from a 70s high arch mower. I have bogged and sanded the cracks ready for a paint. I've decided on Rustoleum 2X satin hierloom white which sits somewhere between full white and beige. I think that ones would work on the white sports cover as well. The good thing is primer is not required so if some paint comes off, chances are the original colour underneath will disguise it.

I have never tried this before because plastics and motorcycle fairings are difficult to repair but I was looking at a bike a mate has just restored and when I asked him how he repaired the fairings because they had significant damage, I think he said he used bicarb soda and super glue. Never heard of it before but I will check with him again but I think that is what he said. How it works I have no idea.

There are free apps for downsizing photos on your phone. I use Photo and Picture Resizer. I had problems at one stage but was quickly attended to when I alerted them and they got me to download a modified version.

Oh right, I see. Maybe wait for Norm to get back bit one way would be to use car bog and paint. It's largely intact that one. I would rather use glue if it did a good job.

Thanks everyone!! This arrived yesterday and it's a God send! But I wouldn't have found it without everyone's help

Another thing that might be worth trying on the cowl is Araldite, not sure if it will hold over the long time but worth a shot, then sand and paint it

One thing I can't stand is paint missing on the left side with a big patch of exposed aluminium. I try and touch up with a brush if I have paint that's a close match. Looks a whole lot better.

Im planning on trying to get a paint match. I'm also going to try and fill all and any holes or corrosion. My green VC-SPORT is, hopefully, going to be a shiny brand new look and as original as possible!!! I agree I don't want the exposed unpainted base. Cheers
