I decided to pull out this Victa Corvette that I have never mowed the lawn with since I got it three years ago.
Apart from a slightly noisy exhaust, it makes this noticeable squeaky noise as it runs. So noticeable I put on a pair of ear muffs as it got annoying.
I have two other full crank 160s that do the same thing but not as pronounced as this.

Does anyone know what it indicates?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

MF, does it sound deck or engine related? Change when revved up?

Catcher flap, play in front axle clip, loose blade carrier, loose muffler clip or the lift off bracket that the fuel tank sits on are things that immediately come to mind

Gb'day Tyler,
definitely sounds crankshaft related. I'd have to take it for another run to see if it intensifies at higher revs. All I know is you hear it slow in rhythm as you shut the engine down from medium revs.

Sorry MF,
I know the sound but don't have an answer, I have had a few like that and I just put them in the F/C pile for a serious look at some time in the future they run fine and I have changed coils/fanwheels and nothing changes the noise so it must be something internal maybe a bearing, all I can think of
