Wiltshire? It bewilders me why they'd buy in?
Probably as an easy way to diversify their product lines in the 1950's. A lot of Aussie companies did that back then, to cash in on the post-war domestic goods sales boom of that time.
Wiltshire File Co. pretty much specialised in just hand and saw files from its founding in the late 1930's until just after WWII, when they went into table cutlery as well.
