I acquired these beauties yay and was hoping for a little help confirming their identity.
If I'm not mistaken the Victa is an early 70's 125 utility. Probably not a great deal more to say on that.

On the other hand there's the mid 50's Lawn Scout.

I tried the search here on ODK and apparently there's some trick to driving it as I turned up nothing. However doctor Google brought me back here to one of Mr.Davis' postings on these machines. Does anyone know anything more of them? I had always been reluctant on "other brand" vintage mowers thinking they'd made their own motors and I'd never get parts or info on them then after reading about Popes Pope with the Villiers it all seemed to make more sense if the manufacturers used readily available motors already in production, like the Villiers. Then reading what Mr.Davis had to say I reckon it might be a long shot to find missing bits.

Any suggestions where I should start before trying to get them started? Just a carby clean, check for spark and perhaps some spray in the inlet to make sure she's lubed up before turning them any more?
If it's ok to ask, whatever happened to Mr.Davis? Is he likely to come back after a rest? He seems quite knowledgeable from the archives.
