Chas2, Can you post a picture (like my first one) so that we can compare the machines, that way I can see if we are comparing apples with apples.
Because if the mower is the same model/size as mine, (32" v 34" deck should not matter) then it seems logical to me to believe that, the larger north/south engine in my mower would fit comfortably in yours.
The only other problem I can think of, is if the engine mounting brackets for east/west engines are different to the north/south ones.
