Here it is in place and in working condition.So once again I must thank bigted for his contribution.This mower is now almost complete I just have to change the fuel bowl back to the alloy one and it will be all original again.
So in saying that this topic has now reached a happy ending and can be closed.
Thanks to all who helped out.There were some good alternatives that could have well worked,but there is just nothing better than the real thing.
