the brass fitting would only be a brass 1/4" bsp or maybe a 1/8" bsp fitting with a hose tail, try an air fitting, if thats too big it will be an 1/8" bsp, I buy heaps off ebay for pnumatic rams and such, they will have the tapered thread.

If you dont make a mess you aint making anything.
