From my own experience and as you (Norm) are aware I changed Honda engines, taking one from a Victa and putting it on the Honda Chassis as the original Honda OHC engine (GCV-160) smoked like a train.
To my surprise I noticed that I couldn't use the Honda Blade carrier as the original Genuine Honda engine uses a 25mm diameter shaft while the GCV-160 Honda's used for Victa's had a 22mm shaft, thus I had to use the Victa carrier and boss on the Honda chassis. The only issue that seems to be is that the blades don't go right out to the skirt, thus losing a bit of vacuum underneath.
What I'd like to do is have a 1.5mm thick sleeve turned up so that I can use the Honda blade carrier and blades on the same branded machine.
