i think their are two different types of wind up starter, one with a chrome surround and a squarer body and the type on that mower. otherwise those old victas with the G3 carbys will go forever without a hint of trouble. its a shame victa stopped the G3 and put that plastic crap on, but i suppose any means of saving money is understandable.
on looking at the picture it appears that the carby is earlier than a G3 and that the air snorkel tube is not the original rubber one. if its just the pipe pressed over the alloy carby body then make sure it seals properly. is that a vc victa that been repainted blue i spy in the background? regards jay
Hi,yes a vc-160-ford engine blue,as for the consul,i mowed the lawn on the week-end.beautifull job,i was surprised how heavy it is.i'm used to the 160.the snorkel is a tight fit and totally clean inside,as for the carby-its the original type (victa 3L) as per specs...ken
Hi mowerman.I have a Cortina 2 that looks almost the same do you know what the different's are between the 2.I have added some pictures for you to compare them. I can't seem to get mine to run due to the impulse starter not working the way it should.I'm also trying to find another base before I can restore it.
