Aloha, the machine that im working on consist of a two piece flex shaft, is there any way i could use a steel shaft instead,due to several flex shaft snapping in middle area. If no steel shaft can be used is it possible to use a single length flex shaft which might be a little stronger,also why did they use a flex shaft in a strait shaft trimmer. any knowledge on this will be appreciated thanks, SHANE

The reason for the shaft breaking would be because when you are using the machine you are reving it up and down a lot. In order to reduce the problem I suggest that you run the machine at full RPM'S as that is how it was designed to run.
