Hi all as most of you know I'm currently working on most of my VC-Mustangs.Now I have hit a hurdle.I don't have all the bits I need. The only problem is I don't think they are easy to come by.What I'm after this time is a bracket and the fitting in the tank for the remote tap system.Like these,
[Linked Image]
What these are is the bracket for the fuel tap (Left) and the brass fitting for the fuel tank (Right).
Now I'm not too worried about the bracket as I have a piece of steel here that I'm going to make one out of,unless of-course I can find an original.Lets face it original would always be better. It's more the brass fitting, now I don't think I will be able to find one.Now I know we have some very smart and talented people on this forums,so.Is there anyone that would be able to make this fitting? As I just don't have the tools to do it.
[Linked Image]
As you can see it flares out towards the nut part.Tricky but that piece fits snug into the plastic fitting in the tank.
[Linked Image]
This picture didn't turn out to well.I was just trying to show the thread inside that the filter screws into.
[Linked Image]
This bracket shouldn't be to hard to make.So if anybody has any or somebody can make this fitting please let me know.I'd like them to be how they left the factory line. Then they could go into the restoring line for me to do.Thanks all.

the brass fitting would only be a brass 1/4" bsp or maybe a 1/8" bsp fitting with a hose tail, try an air fitting, if thats too big it will be an 1/8" bsp, I buy heaps off ebay for pnumatic rams and such, they will have the tapered thread.

So you think I'd be able to find something already done? New that is?

Just wondering if the thread is tapered or parallell (straight thread). If it is straight, it will rely on the taper close to the nut to seal.

OK cool but I would have drunk the beers by then.I'll have to show you the mower after it is restored with the bits on it.Don't get excited or hold your breathe they are a ways down on the restore list, unfortunately, but it will be done.

Here it is in place and in working condition. So once again I must thank bigted for his contribution. This mower is now almost complete I just have to change the fuel bowl back to the alloy one and it will be all original again.
So in saying that this topic has now reached a happy ending and can be closed.
Thanks to all who helped out. There were some good alternatives that could have well worked, but there is just nothing better than the real thing.
Thanks again bigted.

Also I need two brass fittings like this one pictured here. Now I would be happy with something similar as these items a extremely hard to find.

Something like this be any good to you?

now I can see that the brass hose tail you are after is the same thread as the filters that screw in, fairly small but should be an imperial thread maybee a 3/16th or something, will have to try a few bolts to find out unless someone on here knows what the size is. thought I had a remote bracket too but cant seem to be able to find it at present.

That would be exactly what I'm searching for. Also if you have the remote bracket then maybe you have the bolt as washer to hold the tap on with. As on one of mine I had to use whatever I could find here and they don't look the same as the original. Yes it would be good to know what thread type it is as I sent an email to the place above with what I am chasing. Now they have on the web site they have all the different sizes and thread types, but I was like drrr. I'm just don't know how to work out what thread is what. I guess I've never been taught that.
