Hi bassman, BTW, do you play bass? I used to in my band.... Getting back on track, we would like to give you a big warm welcome to the forum; We hope we may be of some help. To enable us to help; we need the correct name and model of your machine, and what part was replaced last time?
Please do not PM me asking for support. Please post your questions in the appropriate forums, as the replies it may receive may help all members, not just the individual member. Kindest Regards, Darryl

If it were inside the carb, possibly the diaphragm has sucked in a bit and it is suckin air in.

The diaphragm should be held by the lip around the edge of the carby, no sealant neccecery. It would very worth while running a repair kit through it while you have it apart. Just remember what order the parts go in and you should be right
