The Barrel and Head pictured above are different to those of any Boundy engine I've seen before. On another site, it was suggested they were not original equipment and likely Victa replacements.
This prompted a heap of additional research, and I can now confirm a few more details.
The Barrel and Head pictured above are in fact original equipment. This was confirmed through numerous measurements taken from the older and a newer style barrels which revealed the only difference to be the height of the upper cooling fins. The fins on the earlier engine sat very close to the cowl thereby restricting air flow. The newer design eliminates that restriction and improves engine cooling.
Also through a number of early advertisements I was also to confirm the engine which we know to be the BMS, was in it's earlier years referred to as the Gold Cheetah. The Gold Cheetah name was later transferred to the outboard.
Anyway, back to the Gold Cheetah outboard! Still missing a few minor parts, and with ignition cover in need of repair, but its close enough to complete to post a final series of pics here.
