Hi again Tony, Your machine is an early solid deck...impossible to date it, but between 1968 and 1973 I would guess. The silver Briggs is definitely not original on this machine...all 17" machines were powered by Kirby Tecumseh's.
Grumpy may be able to identify the crank shaft part number for you.
