New condenser in and it behaved the same way, ie starts and runs but then dies. Bloke at the mower shop thought the old condenser was ok but i bought a new one ayway, he said from the symptoms i had it was a compression problem ie not enough of it and said the decompressor was at fault... So i replaced the decompressor and i tried to start the mower, it took approx 10 pulls on it and finally it ran, a little roughly but it ran. Rested it, tried again and it ran again but with plenty of smoke. I'm not sure why its now working but best guess is that it was flooding a bit and maybe the greater compression has helped to clear it up? The big test will be tomorrow when i do the front lawn, if it starts and continues to run easily, i'll declare a victory, at this point, mayfair 3 tiger 3. Dave and others, thanks for sticking with me, we're almost there.
