The grey ring ended up being the compession ring or top ring.
I got these into the cylinder carefully using my fingers.
I rinsed inside the crankcase out with 2 stroke fuel.
Motor is assembled and seems to make all the right noises when I turn it over.
Plastic carby took up alot of my time.
Work tomorrow, so have to put it aside to start it another time.
