Thanks for the reply Grumpy. I tried to upload a photo.
Smoke from exhaust was excessive.
1.fuel mix 25:1 and fresh
2.yes, muffler was choked up at outlet----clean now
Will put engine oil in cylinder and test and check for scoring.

Let me get to it and I will let you know how I get on.
