Before you go discarding the coil; when these fail, it's usually by one of the windings going open circuit.
This can be easily checked with a conventional multimeter on your unit [as it has the external EI module], if you have or can borrow one.
The primary winding resistance is measured across the two tag terminals on the coil - should be around 0.3 ohm.
The secondary resistance is measured between the spark plug connector and one of the tag terminals - it should be about the same from either tag terminal; around 6-10k ohm.
