Sold a Victa on eBay and now the bidder won't make contact regarding pick up and pay. At first I put it down to the auction ending at a long weekend but it has been 10 days now and still a refusal to make contact. I think he or she bid on impulse and its hoping I'll give up. Trouble is eBay expects you to go through official channels before relisting. I have never faced this inconvenience before, when selling.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Had the same thing happen to me. No response after 1 day. Offered the next bloke a second chance offer then relisted. Funny thing is i have his address and everything. Tempted to pay him a visit

This happens more than you might think, the worst part is they deny someone else the opportunity to purchase, by the time you get back to the runner-up they have moved on and found something else.

Sadly there are thousands of "Non Paying Bidder" claims lodged everyday and it's a long drawn out saga to get your fees back and as "member tiger" stated, by the time you can get on to the underbidder within their system, they've moved on or realised that they got caught up in the moment and bid too much at the time anyway. They'll simply wait until another comes up or have already sourced another or similar.

Cheers,
BB.

How do I relist without Fleece-bay double dipping on fees?

G'day all
I feel some buyers are working the system in the hope sellers won't pursue their rights.
This is largely a balance between the value of the goods and the bother taken to take action.

If a seller can be bothered, it may be that eBay's internal processes are only the first call.
A more fruitful result may occur by asserting your rights in a small claims court in your state.
After all, there is clear evidence of a binding written contract.

Most folk do not pursue this because of the balance of costs and effort taken.
It's a pity we get these sorts of buyers on auction sites.

I encourage both sellers and buyers to assert their consumer rights.

In your case I would definitely open an unpaid item case with eBay. What happens is once the case is opened the buyer has 4 days to pay and once the time is up the case closes and if the buyer hasn't paid your fees are refunded & an unpaid strike is listed on the persons account.

It's been two months . I have left it too long. This buyer will just get away with being a douche yet again.
Maybe it was karma. I got done for non payment because I didn't know that making an offer was binding if they accepted. I assumed you could still consider a final decision to buy or not and I changed my mind after realising it had a fault I didn't like. He made an unpaid report against me. Who am I to doo the same? That would make me a hypocrite.
I might have been better off not meeting this type of person anyway! Plus, I like the engine on this mower.

You could try eBays online webchat helpline to ask but that's a long time so they'd probably like to hang into your fees!

Edit: Sorry I forgot how old the thread was! rolleyes

Just over a month then. I really don't want to be chasing this chap now.
It stinks that they charge the fees before the item has been paid.
