Dunno, maybe a slide out ramp so the mowers can be wheeled in and out? Hope he has a four wheel drive or large ute to tow that with.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Looks good to me Norm, but just wanted to say so far it looks like you're doing a great job! My only suggestion would be to frame up the sides and make them lockable cupboards, ideal for trimmers, blowers, pole saws chainsaws, brooms , shovels etc, otherwise its dead space housing a 2 guards and a spare wheel. Obviously the spare wheel would need to be moved to the underside. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2017/03/full-6430-33458-9016888_orig.jpg)

My suggestion would be to put wheels on that green mower, would make it so much easier to use. If you use the steel type jerry cans they have no problem being out in the sun.

Ok I guess I should have put wheels on the green mower, I was just making sure everything will fit. Yes Bigted, I have thought about the lock up shelving, but at the moment I want to get it finished before I loose interest as I need to get it out of my driveway because SWAMBO's car is getting closer to the street and that can get dangerous

I sent an email to Vic Rds yesterday regarding what information I need to supply them so I can get a vin number for this trailer, thought it might be easier that going in and waiting for an hour at Vic rds Dandenong. Email reply thanked me for contacting them and told me that they would contact me within one week. No wonder this country is in a mess

In Qld you just go into the rego office and ask for one, you don't have to give them any information other than style and date of manufacture. Then you "self asses" your trailer, put the info on the VIN plate and the rego application, pay your money and get your plate without them ever needing to see the trailer.

Hi Trev, my amusement was the fact they would reply to me email within 7 days, must be very busy up at Vic Rds. Last time I registered a trailer was over 30 years ago (and still have it registered) they wanted proof of material purchases, photos of the build in progress a weighbridge certificate and a RWC, this is for trailers used for commercial purposes. I just wanted to find out if this was still the case because I assume they would want the vin number on the RWC and weighbridge papers. Things don't move quickly in Victorian government departments

Interesting thing about registering this trailer. Finally got to Vic Rds yesterday to find out about getting a vin number. As long as it is a single axle trailer with a gross weight of under 750 kg, and this left me gobsmacked. They don't need to see the trailer, they don't need a RWC, they don't need to see any receipts for material to build the trailer and they don't want to see any photos of it or during the build process.. When I queried how this can be I was told I had to fill out the registration request paperwork, this has a series of yes/no questions. When I asked what verification that I was not registering a stolen trailer, I was told that filling out the paperwork was the same as filling out a stat declaration and if I put incorrect information on it I could be held responsible. I still can't believe it Hi Carreon, I have only recently finished building one very similar to the pic but the hours I spent building it would just be staggering. $1000 in materials and weeks of work
