G'day Dee BeeThat issue has been discussed here: IMAGE ORIENTATION I guess it should be addressed on your device to avoid this. I'm not much of a technical person on this. Hope this helps.--------------------- Jack

Yes I'll have to say that's really odd, did you take any photos of the top of the rails just after engine removal and prior to paint removal ?

Only this one. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2017/01/full-10905-32003-img_2426.jpg) Thanks cyberjack, fixed by changing rotation on phone, then back again, then re-upload.

yea only on one side. To me it just looks like those nuts have either been re-welded or that's how it came, but considering the handle bars have a few extra welds and a few other touch ups, I'm going with the first. (assumptions only, Not being a welding expert myself.....)
Anyhow, pushing forward.
Who here would be upset with me if I didn't go with the original colours ?

Hi DB,
If you use a two pack matte black it'll survive the riggers of what a lawnmower goes through, but on the other hand unless you work in a plating shop where you can smuggle the bits and pieces through as foreigny's you're going to find this the most expensive Scotty in history apart from a certain Supercut I know of which I can supply photos of, btw that one is black and chrome.
Cheers, BB.

On a side note, I also got stuck into the frame with a sand blaster (just a machine warehouse one) and that original green powder coat is pretty bloody stubborn in some places. Might have to bang a sanding pad onto the grinder.

Hi Dee Bee,
If you are referring to the frame that's illustrated in this thread then I'm going to be the bearer of bad news............................it's not Powder Coating, that's merely enamel paint. Powder Coating didn't come into use until around 1985 when Rover issued that awful lime coloured Kermit Green in PC.
Cheers, BB.

BB, Whatever they put in the paint back then it sure does 'stick' then..... I'm no expert on any of this so I guess you learn something new every day. thank you! (Again....)
I have most parts back to bare metal, i'll mark up all the bits im going to paint and take a pic, hopefully the brains trust can then let me know which parts im missing or i should not paint.
Cheers

Hi Dee BeeA great read so far. We would love a good scan of that brochure if possible...? It is one we have not recorded and seems to show the black chaincase model 45 from the mid 1970s. Brilliant. [I can PM my email]. Ernie Sigley on the cover? My supplementary question is on the laser cutter. ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2017/02/full-7392-32931-laser.jpg) That looks expensive. Is it used to cut thin sheets of metal? I have no idea. Cheers-------------------- Jack

Cyber Jack,
Yea PM me email and I'll scan it in for you. No worries.
The Laser is for cutting perspex and wood, but can only engrave on metal. I have a larger CNC for cutting ally. (Can't cut steel) I burnt the laser out because the cooling system failed and the only spare tube i had was WAY to big, but i got it in anyways.

Hi Dee Bee
Thank you for that.
Was there any sale receipt date for the new machine?
