my Echo srm-210 sometimes just takes a few pulls to get her started. Runs fine once started. Other times it might take 10, 15, 20, 25 pulls to get her started. Sometimes i give up, then the next day she might start up after just a few pulls. Spark plug is fine. Replaced the fuel mixture. Air filter is fine.
I push the prime button as instructed in manual: "4-5 times after fuel is visible"
It never has started with the choke on. I learned long ago to cold start her with the choke off. Still, when she wont start some times I go ahead and on the choke, but that never helps.
What could be wrong?

i have the same problem with my echo,i gave up and now give it a squirt of start ya bastard and off it goes,same with my little wonder

I don't have experience with these primer carbies, but the correct starting technique for the older Echo saws and brushcutters was always: throttle locked open, ignition on, choke closed.
Pull until it first fires, then open choke and pull once more.

I don't have experience with these primer carbies, but the correct starting technique for the older Echo saws and brushcutters was always: throttle locked open, ignition on, choke closed.
Pull until it first fires, then open choke and pull once more. That is what is the operators's manuals; otherwise, the engine will flood. 3. Primer
Pump primer bulb (C) until fuel is visible and flows freely in the clear
fuel tank return line. Pump bulb an additional 4 or 5 times.
4. Recoil Starter
Lay the unit on a flat area and keep movable attachment parts clear
of all obstacles. Firmly grasp right hand grip and throttle trigger
lockout with left hand and fully depress throttle trigger to wide open
position. Rapidly pull recoil starter handle/rope (D) until engine fires
(or maximum five [5] pulls).
5. Choke
After engine fires (or 5 pulls), move choke lever back to Run ( )
position. Hold throttle trigger and throttle trigger lockout fully
depressed, and pull recoil starter starter handle/rope until engine
starts and runs. Release throttle trigger, and allow unit to warm up at
idle for several minutes.

Thanks, AVB. I should add, that the only time I've had cause to modify this procedure, with my ancient 1970's Echo CS601VL saw, was when I was using up some old [~5 years!] fuel mix. That required half, rather than full, opening of the choke after 'first fire', so it would run well enough to warm up. Fresh fuel mix - all back to normal.
