Hello vintage mower enthusiasts.
I need help, I have recently come into possession of a Villiers Mk10 4 stroke, fixed speed mower engine on a Scott Bonner frame. I have used it a few times and love it. I have done a bit of work on it and I need some help on the B10 carburettor. I thought it was running a bit rich so I decided to strip it down to give it a good clean, upon doing that I have found the previous owner has removed the seals and not replaced them. Also the air filter it missing.
All the numbers I can find on the carburettor are V1333, the number 38 stamped on the end of the main jet and the number V1270C/1 under the carb. The engine number is 329X46842.
Any info or source of parts for this model would be greatly appreciated.

The only info I know on the SB is the mower number BM09121

My guess is that the BM will stand for Bonmow.
If you have a MK10 on that, then it is a rare machine.

Yep, that's only the second one we've seen.
These date from the late 1950s. There are some photos of
one in the History Record (linked by me above).

Your machine confirms the other example: that the Villiers engine
was in two-tone: red and blue.

Yours has been set up for higher grass (front roller).

p.s. nice work table.

Unfortunately I didn't get the original catcher but my father did make one out of the casing of a washing machine that works well and did keep the colouring flowing.

I will find time in the next few days for some reading, I got the 46 odd pages of the Villiers operating manuals and all the other documents you linked earlier.

Thanks once again for your help, had a quick read of the History record and part 5 is my mower.

The only variable between mine and the ones in the photo that I can see is the missing chain guard (I didn't know it had one) and the different carby. Mine is a cup and oil filled air filter.

Looks like a bit more work still needs to be done!!

A lot of work was put in to that record - in research & writing.

Yes, I guess your machine would have had a chain guard too.
You have the rarest of the Model 19s - the 4-stroke.
I wouldn't think many of these would have been sold ... dozens, maybe hundreds.

Catchers do come up at auction from time to time.
Please keep us informed of the progress on this rare little machine.

Sorry for the late response, been a bit busy

Here are the photos for the History Record you wanted, also a progression photo.

News to date is new air filter and cup, new gasket of carby (courtesy of Stephen from VAC) and is now running like a dream.

Now just on the hunt for a chain guard

Maybe he could weave his magic on a chain guard ...

You should be able to get a Bonmow decal for the catcher
from eBay's Silensmessor store (he's a member here).
