Aram,

1. Remove the 4 screws on clutch housing.

2. Remove the screw in the centre of the clutch drum (you will need a T20 screw driver).

3. Remove clutch (this has normal thread so undo anti-clock wise).

4. Remove 4 screws on cover holding starter on.

5. Remove 1 screw holding eyelet in for starter cord and then remove starter pulley.

6. Replace rope and reassemble.

Good luck. cheers2

Aram,

With the clutch removal you will need to do the following:

1. Remove spark plug.

2. Get some starter rope and put it in the cylinder towards the exhaust side.

3. Rotate clutch anti-clockwise till it stops moving.

4. Get small brass dolly or punch (not centre punch) then hit the clutch (on inside lip)in an anti clockwise direction to release it.

This should work as I have done it in the past. cheers2

Hi Bruce
Thank you for your help. Just wondering if any type trimmer starter rope would be alright to use?

Aram,

If you use standard starter rope(nylon) 2.5mm to a maximum of 3mm would be ok.

You should be able to get it from your local mower shop and only cost up to about $5.00 cheers2
