was going to leave the engine on and replace all the parts as i have kept this piston in oil and seems to have great compression, but i may change it out with this as i like the carby ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-22740-dscf4716.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-22741-dscf4739.jpg) the 160 in the pic powers. this is one of the first i found and the old self propelled deal is cool want to make it work.

what you have is a 550 fullcrank selfdrive , hava a good close look at it for damage/cracks in the base they normally get a beating and not a really strong body super 600 is a lot bigger again . powertorque is in your other post , with the flat top and big boxy muffler at front . love the swamp tyres though

you could just change it with the storebrand you have , take it complete just change the crank pulley (if its a 160 not 125) 125's had the spark plug offset not in middle . g4's arent that bad , and seems your gunna need to learn soooo , why not now ? just slow n easy and a few there to compare if you get lost in plastic parts . hardest part is the cutout i think , getting them to work can still sometimes be tricky as the odd one just wont play the game !

Failed, I left the plastic carby on changed the coil pack . good spark compression fuel. When i go to turn it over with the drill it coughs and splutters and sounds like it is going to explode. as it is the self propelled type cant just change engines as they have no pully and are not long enough. But i have 2 of the same engines that power. I am stummped

cleaned out the float chamber and jet ? really small hole into the carb body where the jet screws into , clean it out too . really fine wire/tip cleaner or carb spray and air best i can see both cranks are same length on two 160's i have here one with and one without pulley. a good spark plug that you KNOW runs well ? might just be a little water in there somewhere . you set the airgap too ?

I think the engine may be cactus. the sound it makes when turned over sounds like something is broken with a loud metalic banging sound. how would i swap a motor over and get the pully in the same spot ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-22750-dscf4760.jpg) ![[Linked Image]](https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/uploads/usergals/2015/07/full-9141-22751-dscf4763.jpg) cheers vccomm

just pull the barrel n have a looksee , but not hard to change , no need to be in same spot too as no keyway on these cranks bottom end , just put on a hard surface (vice old rail track something hard , or just a hard steel block one side , hit the other side sharply and it should pop off . just be carefull with the pulley , practise on a couple of old duds 1st . a taper fit so no need to locate anything , the nut will do the job and make sure its tight

put it on a vice or something solid , give a a sharp hit with a decent size hammer shock it off , vice anvil really solid , these things can break pullers ! i mean the blade boss (rusty looking part) a good sharp hit and off she comes might take 2 or 3 though practise on something you dont need before you try the pulley to get the feel for it 1st . dont forget to change the spacers too or the blade plate will be too low (little alloy things you see on the pullyed engine above the nuts in pic')
