Hi guys, for the last 36 years I have owned and kept running a Victa 2 stroke mower 125 cc Mk2 70 series which has the G3 metal carby. Now require a throttle cable which is 46" long
On one end there is a brass piece which slots into throttle control with the other end able to accept screw in throttle piece which attaches to carby.
I got desperate and purchased ($25.00) a smaller length cable (42") from a local mower repair place. To enable me to use this shorter cable I will need to move throttle control lower down on handle . This means drilling extra holes which I am reluctant to do at this stage. Would anyone know where I might purchase correct length cable (46") ????
I live at Coburg North in Melbourne.

.... Thanks

Does it just have a kink in it? As it might be easier to fix the kink,as they are getting hard to find. Can you put up a picture of the mower as it may help somebody if they have one.As they do come in different lengths. When they were new they had some paint (On the carby end) which helped identify which mower and length it was.I highly doubt that paint would be there now.So picture would be great.
If you hunt around there could be some mower places that can make a new one.I found a guy (when I was living in Canberra) that had the bits and pieces to make up new cables. So that could be a possibility.Although hard to find guys that do.

Hi Blumbly, thanks for you reply. No kinks in cable, but brass end piece pulled away from outer cable and I tried to push back on then squeeze with pliers but I made it worse and cracked i
(See picture attached) ... Also, there is no paint left on cable to identify. Picture of mower also attached.

...Thanks [Linked Image]

Victa cables were made by Consolidad Wire Products.
They are still there at Milperra NSW .
Conwire
Drop them a line.
The longest G3 cable stocked now days is the one you have been sold.
A genuine Victa shop should be able to order you in one but chances all that will happen is Victa will order one from Mark , double his price and take twice as long to get it to you.
Conwire do not list Victa cables on their web page as they still supply cables to Victa.
Photograph the ends of the cable you need & send them an email.
Great people to deal with I get lots of cables made there.

Hi,

Im new here, I have a VC160 V96 as a parts machine. Havent done a lot with these mowers but it has a throttle cable on it I can post to you if you are still looking for one. You can have it for free (Postage shouldnt be too much).

It has a couple of kinks in it but still operates fine from what I can see (Ive never had this one running before though)

Let me know if you want it. I would post a pic here but I cant work out how to.

Thanks,
Pete
