Hi guys. Tomorrow I am going to look at an Ariens ride on with a rotary hoe attachment that is not running. The motor, according to the current tenant, does turn over but doesn't start and he thinks it is 18hp. He has said, "make me an offer." What do people think would be a fair price assuming that it may just be a parts machine? And are they worth the effort of getting it going again?
I think we'd need to know what model Ariens, what engine, what rotary hoe, and in what condition. Sometimes the tenant has made a small mess and panicked, so you get a dirt cheap mower that can be sorted out in an hour. Other times the whole machine has had the final gong in too many ways to count.
Thanks grumpy. I haven't seen it or any pictures even, just a note on a notice board in the super market and a few details from a phone call. Are parts for Ariens readily available and reasonably priced? And what sort of a reputation do they have?
If you Google "Ariens mower parts Australia", you'll find you get quite a few hits, including Outdoorking's on line parts store. I can only remember one thread on Ariens on this site, but some of the members may be a lot more familiar with the brand than I am.
