Hi all was talking to a chap from Mackay about a recent find he had found.
Now although I have herd of them and have seen them from time to time I couldn't give him a lot of information about them.
So I thought I would post it up here and see what you all know about these mowers know as the Alex Grahame.
Here are the pictures he sent me.







It does turn over but he hasn't tried to start it.
He also wanted to know as to what it's worth is?
I really didn't know that either.He only asked as he is more into stationary engines and was hoping he could find someone to swap something like that for it.
So just wanted to know so that way he could get something to the same valve.
Any info would be great.

only one i have ever seen was this pic on the vintage mowers website. fully restored and lookin good.

Occasionally i see some parts now and then. Its running a mk3 midget with remote tank so id say its mid to late 50s (the flywheel will give its date) all the other parts look correct from the ones ive seen, except the wheels appear Rotomo not Alex Grahame as they are dished not ridged and flat . cost? Whatever someone wants to pay....you know the story if it aint Victa it aint worth much...well thats not my opinion but seems to be the case. Id put its value somewhere in this range 80-120-150, The 150 only because thats what id pay if it was 100% complete and running or Restorable/serviceable.. I dont know if there are enough around to have some sort of a price guide like "Rotomo,Special, Hurricane/Amplion, Pace and Villager. Thats all Ive got:) If it was in Sydney id make him an offer:)

Thanks guys at least I have something to tell him now.Blue I'm glad you said that about the wheels as that was the first think I thought when I seen those wheels.I know it's not the easiest thing to price but I was thinking around that as well.Only at the 150 mark I would be wanting it to go.
I'm going to be in touch with him most likely tomorrow so I'll let you know what he says Ian.
