Hi stockman, welcome to Outdoorking. Tecumseh ceased production of engines in December 2008, so yours will have been New Old Stock when you bought it. Production of original equipment parts stopped when engine production stopped. However some of the more popular parts are probably being produced again by now, specifically as spares.

I suggest you have a look at the first post in this thread:
https://www.outdoorking-forum.com.au/forum/u...=7230&Words=timing&Search=true#Post37761

Mr Bonnar, the author of the thread, names the suppliers who sold him parts for his very old (1970s) Tecumseh. You might care to contact them and see what parts they have for your engine.

Thanks for the info have tried both sites Mfg did not have anything suitable and outdoor Distributors require the model number to search and the numbers that I have are not showing up as a model number. I have searched this motor all over and have failed to find any other numbers

I'm thinking, the best place to find parts is at the local tip or scrap yard.

That or try and find another engine on Gumtree or Ebay

The model number is the first line from that sticker on the starter housing. Hence it is normally called a Geo 195 OHV. That is, it is from Tecumseh's last model line, which they called Geo-Tech, it is a 195cc engine, and it has Over-Head Valves. It was made in both vertical and horizontal crankshaft versions. Your particular variant of this model series, the 65 version with horizontal crankshaft, is an E-69012A. I can find almost no information on this engine on the internet - my guess is that Tecumseh's venture into OHV engines happened in the last moments of their engine production and consequently distribution of spare parts may not have been all that extensive.

Tecumseh sold off its engine division and the Peerless transmission division to a private equity firm in 2007. The private equity firm sold Peerless to Husqvarna and closed the engine business in 2008. Engine assets were sold to Certified Parts Corporation, who had a plan to sell the stock of spares to the trade and continue to make some of them, selectively. There was said to be a possibility of making complete engines eventually. Here is a state-of-play report from September 2010:
http://www.manufacturing.net/news/2010/09/certified-parts-corp-determined-to-stay-afloat

This is the Certified Parts website:
http://www.certifiedpartscorp.com/EpiphanyWeb/FlexPage.aspx?ID=189

If you go to their FAQ page you will find a dealer locator - perhaps it will be of help. I think it would take considerable luck to find either parts or an engine in Australia, where Tecumseh engines were never popular, and the last-gasp OHV engines do not seem to have been common even in the US.

Try looking for broken machinery, You never know... you may get lucky.

Also Try www.partstree.com I'm not 100% sure they ship to AU but they are a Tecumseh licensed Distributor.

Ok so I had a bit of time this morning, and I have almost confirmed this engine is one of the OH195 engines, there are 3 different ones though, here is a parts diagram with a parts list....

Mate, That is brand new, not parts....

That would be a replacement not a parts engine.... Much too nice.

One of the problems with vertical-cylinder OHV engines is that if the valve retainer breaks, or slips off due to poor assembly, you get the outcome that stockman got. Hence a brand-new, never-been-started GeoTech 65 might easily have a brittle or wrongly installed valve retainer like stockman's seems to have had, and produce the same result again. A new valve and a new retainer sound like a better solution to me, at least if the original piston has been carefully inspected and isn't cracked or bent. (It would be a good idea to check that the connecting rod, cylinder bore and cylinder head were not damaged too, of course.)

I suggest the first step should be to contact the same US vendors that Mr Bonnar used so successfully in the Kirby Lauson thread, giving the model number and part numbers that Joe has found. I think stockman's specific model is called OHH65. (There are also OHH50, OHH55, and OHH60 versions. The last number seems to be the claimed horsepower.)
