Hi all,

probably a silly question but I just cant figure out why it doesnt work! I rebuilt my powertorque engine and when i put the carby back I seem to not be able to connect the kill switch wires correctly to the carby..

no matter how i plug them in it still won't turn off frown is there a specific way to do this? i must have done this a dozen times before with no issues.

any help would be great!

The wire with the rib on the brass peice goes in the middle (with the rubber on it) and the other is the one that gos accross...

Sometimes they can get a bit tricky and wont turn off, the best way I deal with those is to have it running, With the thrtttle in the stop position reach in behind the carby and push the center wire, and wiggle it a bit until the engine stops.

SAFETY NOTE: make sure while fiddling with the ignition wires not to stick your foot under the mower, its easily enough done and even with steel cap boots it hurts lol

Hey there, make sure also that your rubber plug isnt all hard or it can cause the kill switch to not work. and that when you insert the longer prong , That the throttle in the the run position.
cheers.

Hello all,
After my teething stage with setting these pins up, I generally havnt had too many problems, but have found them fidgity at times.
I also had one that just would not stop, no matter what I tried.
I ended up pulling the end cap off the carby, lifting the diaphapm and watching what was going on inside, whilst moving the throttle to stop.
This one still dosnt stop.
I turn the fuel tap off to stop it, this is my proceedure anyway.
I would like it to stop, due to safety.

Love this information given above fella's. Good an ya's.

I have also used a multimeter on the Ohms range across the magneto, to test when the stop is earthing out, I dont always do this though.
