Hi to All,
After noticing the finish of a mates garden edges, I asked him what machine he was using, it turned out to be a late model Powertorque T-A-Cut. He also had a circular Bynorm blade fitted, and said it was far superior to the straight blade.
I decided to replace my straight blade with one and happened to find one at a clearance sale for $8.50. Whilst fitting the new blade, I noticed that the drive "V" belt was cracked and quite obviously streched so I decided to replace that as well.
I had noticed whilst edging lately that the blade would tend to stop when encountering harder ground. I now know why!!

Before removing the belt (after doing the safety checks, removing the plug lead etc.) I took particular care in noting how the belt was fitted as the belt fitment is critical to the rotation direction of the blade...I then noticed that the blade was rotating in a
clockwise direction......something in my head told me that it should be
anti-clockwise so I headed here to the forum and looked up the T-A-Cut edger manual.(God bless the "Parts and Manuals" topic!!

) I then discovered that I had been using the machine with the blade turning in the wrong direction.

I fitted the new belt correctly, and replaced the blade, and then gave it a run...Wow! What a difference......the edges now look great!!

It just goes to show, you learn new things every day!
