Hi Speedy,

That snipper looks like it copped abuse after it wouldn't start , I've had mowers where an axe has smashed the cowl , starter,flywheel ,
tank and carby but the rest of the motor is good and I've fitted replacement parts and the mower is like new again.

Lucky we aren't as gun mad as the Yanks as they just shoot mowers that don't run.

Chucking it off a cliff or motorway overpass is more satisfying.

Settle down MF, throwing them off an overpass is not a good idea. Ammo must be cheap in America to just waste like that and doesn't show a lot of brain power, and they let people like that own guns

Yes, it was low key disturbing seeing that and it didn't seem to do much after all those shots. Yea, I'll scratch the overpass idea.

Now I got a few politicians I would like wrap a string trimmer around their necks. But seriously most of my customers tend to wrap them around trees.

I even had one customer to take a sledge hammer to a fairly new mower because it would not start to only find out later it was just out of fuel.

good to see you are still here, I was worried by your no show for some time

I remember someone slinging off at me why I wouldn't repair a homelite half crank pull cord that wouldn't retract. After standing there ripping it apart and rewinding it, I got it back together in about 30 minutes.

Went to start it, 3 pulls then off choke, 4th pull the pull start let go again. I explained thats why you don't repair these.

They asked me what do I do now.

Without saying a word I turned around and javelined it out the shed door

I had a friend come here last week with one belonging to a friend of his, he didn't want me to replace the pull cord, just wanted a cord and handle.I handed him the bits, wished him good luck and to keep me posted

Just been covered up with headaches repairs. For some this year nothing have been easy to repair. Some are breaking as fast as I repair one thing something else rears its ugly head.

Things are finally slowing down to where I can visit the forums more.

I was wondering where you went AVB and if all was well. Glad you're still about and keeping outdoor appliances on the road.
Have you noticed a trend towards battery equipment as is occurring here? Professionals are now turning to them. No more hassles with temperamental carbs and ever more restrictive tuning. This bypasses that problem. They don't pollute and they only run when you're doing work with them. They make a lot of sense with hand held equipment compared to transport.

Actually there is a lot pollution associated battery power, just not locally. Battery components are very pollution intensive as are the electric companies. Just transferring where the pollution is generated.

Yes the State of California is actually going to ban all new petrol power small equipment sales.

IIt doesn't surprise me that very controlling state is doing that very knee-jerk policy for political reasons over pragmatic motives without thinking it through.
You also have a battery disposal problem. Do you think everyone will go through proper channels to have them recycled properly?
It's hard enough (where I live) finding a place to dispose of dead lithium batteries now.
Who will deal with the glut of big ones used on garden equipment?

Apparently (I have it on reasonably good authority) BMW have an old factory in the outskirts of sydney (or possibly melb, it was a couple of months since I was told this) where they are piling up dead lithium batteries from the likes of the I3 and other ones - they simply cannot dispose of them in todays climate

Really, hydrogen is the only way to go long term, and thats $$$

Just might to get some Iodine pills instead as some nut case might set off a few nukes soon.
