Hi all

Bought a metre of fuel line click and collect at SCA on their storewide sale

Lo and behold, I go to install it and it says its Power Steering return line

So I rang and they said 'Oh, its fine to use its all the same'.

I thought BS - rang the guy I know at another store and he said BS as well

Have you guys ever heard of this. I mean its possible, but I highly doubt it.

Hi Tyler,
I had this discussion about 30 years ago with a very smart bloke at Carac ( the go to auto parts store around here, all the rodders and modders went there) here in Dandy and he assured me it was fine to use, might not last quite as long as dedicated fuel hose but these days with all the chinese junk stuff kicking around who knows how long anything will last. Nitrile hose is fuel/oil resistant so there should be no problem. Anyway your hose will outlast any mower you put it on as long as you don't use it on a 2 stroke Victa because it might still be around in another 100 years. It might need replacing before then.

What section did you find it? I was at SC that day looking for stuff to buy and would have grabbed that had I known. Does it fit in the G4 inlet well?

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Hi guys

This is 8mm fuel line for the Camira - Pressurised system with hoses over the top of a hot engine and alternator

Also, it looks like the 8mm PS hose is thicker walled - as the ryco site states 8mm fuel line - but the PS hose is really thick and the clamps supplied with the z92 filter don't fit it

If it were for a mower, I wouldn't think twice - but in a pressurised system where you can't see whats happening...

Hey Tyler, have you tried Couplers in Malaga?

I don't collect mowers. I just require Multiple Mowing Solutionsâ„¢.

They were recommended to me by a REPCO bloke. I was chasing some more fuel line for the Pope. Haven't got around to popping in, but I will be. I'll let you know what they're like if you wish?

I call then Super Costly as I frequently find better deals at their rivals. The masses continue to fall for that misnomer of a trading name.
There are some gems to be had though, but not near the same levels as the early days, much like Aldi.

Thanks Mystyler, that would be appreciated. I'll go have a look one day as its literally a 10 minute drive

MF, I always shop around for these things on sale or clearance. Repco were $22 per meter, SCA were $9. Sometimes REPCO earn their acronym - Rip Every Poor C*** Off

Got 6l of Nulon coolant concentrate for $28 today - 40% off all Nulon at SCA

I like Repco more though as my local guys bend over backwards if something goes wrong

Turns out (apparently) the guy who reckons its the same hose is a new guy who was a mechanic for 5 years and thinks he's king s***. Several guys have comeback and told him he is a d***head for selling them the wrong part

Tyler, the sales are needed just to get a fair price on their normally over priced wares sold at ripoff levels.
They're all as bad as each other now, though Super Cheap is being misleading by their name.

Supercheap were very good when they started out but once the original owner sold out the prices just jumped straight up and just became another retailer selling Chinese stuff at heavily inflated prices.

Yeah, nowadays they deserve their nickname 'Super Crap'.

They both employ stuck up young females with poor customer service and product knowledge.
I went to ask a young girl a couple of things at Bunnings and her body language and disinterested tone of voice made me feel like I was approaching her at a bar to come on to her! Aussie girls are so full of themselves sometimes.

I went to return a grease gun at bunnings once as the lever that holds the plunger out would let go without notice and pop all the grease out. She and the girl next to her at the returns desk were belittling saying

"Its not defective, you aren't doing it right." I said how would you do it? She goes "its not a difficult concept, you pull this knob out, latch it in, put the cartridge in and then screw the cap..."

Bang, the latch lets go and all the grease goes straight over her

I said that its an interesting feature and that a few tins of degreaser should get that out of your hair

Hi all,

I usually only buy fuel hose at Clark Rubber ,every day price $8.95 a meter for 8 mm fuel hose.

Yep SUPER CRAP is what I always call that store (SCA) .

That's a funny story about the grease gun Tyler ,it reminds me of when I bought a Flymo mower
from a saleswoman at a tip shop and she said the mower was only few dollars because the wheels were
missing. rolleyes

Cheers
Max.

Thanks Max

Didn't know clark rubber had fuel line (makes sense as I have bought vinyl line from there in the past.

I picked up a nearly new Ryobi whipper snipper from the tip shop for a few dollars as the woman there said it had broken in half.

It was a split shaft rolleyes
