I came across these in my travels yesterday. The green 80's Mustang catcher popped out but it had damage in several places upon closer inspection.
Interesting mending with the fiberglass on the blue side catcher.

Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!

Not worth wasting time with MF when I end up with those from people wanting to help, I just cut them up with a grinder and put them in the household bin. Cut correctly I can usually get 5 catchers in out 120 litre bin and I get to use next doors as well.

What grinding wheel do you use NormK? I have an identical catcher I want to dispose of after getting a black replacement catcher in undamaged condition.

MF,
I just us a 1mm grinding disc on my 5 inch grinder, cuts them up easily. I cut around the edge of the top, same around the bottom, then cut the sides into sections. This way the pack in the bin easily because they are pretty much flat sections

G'day M-F and Norm

I don't get why no one had bid for this catcher.
It is in great condition! Needs a simple repair ...

Any thoughts?

Hello Jack,

Quite possibly because the seller is charging almost $120 in freight?!

Evening Jack,

Don't worry, I only picked up on it because many years ago I almost got done with the same trick. Now when I see something cheap, and wonder what the catch it, I look at the postage charge...

Wow that blue one is a 70's rover side throw catcher. fitted to the rapid, super 4 and prince. They are getting pretty rare now for the reason that one is fiberglassed, something in the blue plastic goes really brittle.

Not worth anything though if it was missing the side plate and had that much damage.

Hi nath, glad someone chimed in about the side car catcher. That fibre glass looked gross. Now I know why they resorted to it.
