terrace,

Carby adjustment and if that does not work you will need to replace the diaphragms and fuel filter. cheers2

It will have one of two types of carby either:

1. Zama M16 part # 222405 diaphragm kit

2. Walbro WT92 part # 222756 diaphragm kit

You will need to give me all the numbers stamped on the carby that you can in order to supply the correct carby kit. cheers2

cheers2Thank You Bruce. The motor runs steady so i won`t adjust the carby. At present i`ve got the fuel filter out and am attempting to clean it in petrol, hopefully. Are the diaphrams on the carby? What would i clean the felt air filter with, kero? help2

I have the fuel filters in stock and they cost around $9.00 + postage. I would not bother trying to clean the filter because once they are blocked you are unable to clean. cheers2

aussieThanks again Bruce. I`ve blown through the fuel filter and air comes out squirting petrol out. I cleaned the air filter with kero. Now i`ll put it back together and try it and if that doesn`t work it must be the other options you mentioned. Cheers again cheers2

Have put it back together after doing all that including emptying and cleaning the petrol tank with petrol. It takes a long time to start, (a dozen pulls or more) but did start, and i adjusted the carby screws a little while it was going and i can now get good power even upside down. Would putting in a new petrol tank filter make it easier to start? aussie

terrace,

If your filter is partially blocked, yes it would help,
I would change it, don't try and clean it felt filters should be
replaced. Any lawnmower shop will have them.
