Don't know NormK but it looks like you can fit a PT onto it going by the spare hole visible. I've never considered you could get these bases with a SP system in it.
Ahh, if only victa had kept producing the thumblatch catcher series, they would be in better shape today!
MF it is a Tornado base, I have asked the seller to lift the rear flap so I can look at the gearbox. No response yet. The lever is the brake/kill switch
Hello Gents, i've had a couple come through over the years, all with the same problem, the SP not working. On all of these occasions it was the belt that had jumped off the pulley on the PTO. Yes, they are a half chute with the gearbox taking up the other half.
Hi BT, are you saying that the Tornado can be self propelled, everything must be underneath somehow and what a disaster they would be and how is the drive engaged no cable going towards the gearbox
Thanks BT, I haven't been up to Bunnings to have a look at them, any time I go to Bunnings it is for something specific so I am in and out as quickly as possible. I don't wander through there just looking around. I wonder if the gearbox is any better than the Honda 3 speed ones
I'm either going to have to get a output shaft sleeve made up for my Honda that runs this mulching disc or do as Norm has done and that is buy those longer blades and grind them down by about 5mm in length to suit the Honda chassis correctly so that it picks up a bit better.
Cheers, BB.
I live a 24 Hour lifestyle, but every now and again I seem to fall asleep, well at least that's what my wife tells me.
