I have never bothered checking but does anybody know if the full crank range of mowers from the Toe Cutters to the last of the side pulls used the same size seal on the top 17mm and the 20mm on the bottom?

Hi Norm,
I'm sure some Victa 2 stroke seals are different, from memory the crank changed to a
larger diameter.

Cheers
Max.

Hi Max,
it must be the Toe Cutters that have a 17mm top seal the sidepulls are 20 mm top and bottom, just not sure when they changed it

VICTA OIL SEAL 20mm

FITS TOP AND BOTTOM OF CRANKCASE ON

125cc & 160cc MOTORS FROM 1973 ONWARDS

AND TOP SEAL ON ALL 125cc & 160cc MOTORS

EARLIER MOTORS NEED A 17mm BOTTOM SEAL

OEM PART No.HA25003A

Anybody know off hand the seal sizes on these, I would assume that as they have a G4 carb they would be using the 20mm seal top and bottom. I need to replace the seals on one tomorrow and I don't have any 17mm seals here.

G'day Norm,

That one looks to be somewhat bitserised - the 82-83 MK326A1 Mayfair Ute [the model number on the air filter housing] would have a side pull starter.
In any case, it will have 20mm crank seals.

The carby is actually an LM, even tho' it has the idle speed adjuster knob! It will likely have points ignition too, also like the MK326A1 example I have on hand here.

Cheers,
Gadge

Hi Gadge,
Thanks I figured if it has a plastic carb it should take the 20mm although I guess there is the chance the barrel may have been swapped in some previous life.

Never a dull moment when fixing mowers, I removed the blade boss on this Victa and I couldn't work out what was up with the orange coloured seal. Somebody had fitted a Victa axle dust seal and a washer up in the housing behind the original seal and held in place by the blade boss. Probably the reason it wasn't working.

Sometimes all you can do is laugh yourself silly or at I do at times of how dumb someone was. But boy I do feel good afterwards; at least brightens up my day.

I just got through check out a Briggs that supposedly discharging the battery; of course, it is in a lot worst condition. That #2 cylinder mouse bed did a number on the head. I even found a BBQ mouse.

I don't think I am that bad off yet I got to BBQ mice. crazy
