Good article Jack.
It annoys me no end that a lot of things make it as difficult as possible to "fix". I don't wear a tin foil hat, but when you see weak points in items that could not have cost more than a few cents to strengthen, you have to wonder. Usually that weak spot is "fixed" and not user replaceable either.
