Hi Sean, NormK and Jack
I googled the site Gadge suggested some time ago and on their Lawncare forum there is one topic.....Fertiliser!!!
Fertiliser is important. I prefer Seasol myself but surely we can share more than just what helps your lawn green up.
As an example, Simrice's thread on grooming rollers I am sure has given me a light bulb moment not only for my Santa Ana in the rear yard, but also for my Kikuyu in the front nature strip.
I have had a lot of distaste for Kikuyu for decades, but in recent yrs decided to embrace rather than try to obliterate. Once you give yourself over to it, the species actually has merit.
My idea of scarifying it over the last couple of yrs has been to Scalp it. I can see where a grooming roller would serve well throughout the growing season, in order to keep it in a juvenile and lesser thatched state.
Any members care to set me straight, please do...I'm here to learn as much as share

An image of my nature strip before I scalped the edges earlier this month to reduce the thatch.
I can post an image of that if members wish to cringe lol
