I don't think it is the rings at this stage from what you are telling me.

1. Did you put the key back in the crankshaft where the flywheel goes?

2. Did you reset the air gap with a business card?

3. If you put your finger over the spark plug hole and then pull the starter to see if you get any signs of compression.

4. Are you getting fuel(is it fresh) to the cylinder (is the plug wet)?

5. If not try putting a small amount down the plug hole and see if it fires at all.

6. If it fires up then we go to the next stage carby.

Answer these questions and then get back to me with the answers. cheers2
