roebuck, if you are sure it always has no spark when it's hot and it usually has spark when it's cool, and this doesn't change when the kill wires are removed, it does sound like a temperature-dependent ignition module failure. If Joe can help you with a module that fits, trying it with the other module seems like the first thing to do.
