The dirt amongst there was oil soaked so I thought perhaps the head gasket was leaking. In fact it was as 5 head bolts were very loose. I retensioned all to 165 in lbs. I sealed the dipstick base as leaks annoy me and more of my OCD showed by bonding lino strips under the deck cowl as it rattles badly when idling. Hopefully it will quieten it down.
