thanks rodeobob for your imput the mowers are my fathers and has since new been hard on deck belts he has two of them and are both the same
i finally found the belt size and its an odd size i was thinking the same as you about the kevlar belt but i think one of the problems is that there is no adjustment on the belt a slight amount of stretch and the problem starts
so what i have done is make an eccentric shaft for the idlers that change the belt direction from horizontal to vertical and that solves two problems so i can use a standard size belt and keep it tensioned
