Hi all,

Fairly new to this, however this is my first 2 stroke so picking up bits and pieces from YouTube and here.

My dilemma is that I can't seem to get my V160 PT Tornado Classic to rev to full rpms. I initially had the problem that all it would do was over rev and I had to limit it with the throttle lever but I'd come to terms with that.

After adding 2 brass washers to sort the high idle, it seems ive done something to limit it's max rpm. Haven't read anything to suggest that the washers affected max rpm, only assisted in lowering the idle.

From idle moving the stick to full, it revs up to what id consider full rpm then sort of settles a bit lower and thats as high as it goes.

Before this issue, I've replaced the following, stupid me did this for maintainance sake but obviously Ive done something or uncovered something.

Carby needle, faceplate with bulb, seal
Intake seals, both ends
Starter seal
Air filter
Plug
Governor spring

I checked the vacuum governor nozzle and hose and its clear of obstruction, cleaned and checked the decompression valve also. Hoses are in good condition, no leaks. I did try a snipped red spring while it was over revving and it didn't seem to change, however haven't changed it back to that spring to see if it actually makes a difference now as it didn't before.

The governor nozzle is a CR03727A, and its got a pretty small inlet. Is it supposed to be this small? The outdoor king CR03727A sale ad says to drill it out 7.5mm, that size is bigger than the intake so im a bit confused.

Any help would be appreciated.
