Hi Widget, that's cast into the crankcase and tell us how many cc's the bore is. The numbers I'm referring to are stamped and on the flat upright side of the crankcase just to the right of the dipstick.

Widget, there is electro etched number as per this photo. it is model type and code as per normal briggs. it is not embossed, it is etched (debossed)
oh, you're right. I had another look (had to look close), there's little indents making the numbers. Hard to see with all the flaking paint, had to get in close.

We have a direct link to Briggs which tells us what engine model is from the serial number of the engine.
Oh nice, is this publicly available or do you have access due to selling B&S parts ?
Regarding the 'breather' compartment, any suggestions on what sealer/gasket maker is best to use there?
