Guy dropped off a friends mower and line trimmer he lent him - friend filled both tanks with fuel before loaning them ready for him to use
But neither will start
Turns out he didn't know his new 1 week old Homelite trimmer was a 2 stroke and straight fueled it. Both of us shook our heads
Low compression - tipped some oil in with the fuel and some down the plug hole.
Minor miracle that it ran - its not healthy and I had to richen up the mixture significantly but it runs.
Mower was a Victa vantage Flat head 148cc briggs.
Throttle lever broken (so throttle stayed in off position), air filter clogged solid, NO OIL on the dipstick, blades nearly gone, muffler falling off
Finally begrudgingly got the go ahead for air filter and oil (didn't want to pay for mates repairs)
Started first pull and revved to 4500rpm. Throttle butterfly was jammed wide open.
Bloody hopeless
