replacing the carb is far less time consuming than putting a kit through them and then if it doesn't work you have wasted your time and you still end up replacing the carb

I find anything to do with these blowers/trimmers is usually a complete waste of time because even after you have got them working properly they are still sell for about $50 anyway. I usually only look at them to help somebody out
